Since February, 1917 Petersburg was grasped by epidemic of meetings and meetings: people gather at factories, at theatres, grammar schools, barracks, in circuses, on the areas. By February, 23rd (this day have stopped a bread batch) excitements develop into mass riots: strikes about 90 thousand workers, everywhere there are street demonstrations, demonstrations, processions. Inciting to revolution, skilfully use the discontent of broad masses caused by faults with supply by bread (failures with foodstuffs delivery were affected also by unknown snow drifts and frosts – to-43 ˚ With, the cities which have paralysed supply). Embitternment of people is mainly provoked by difficulties with the foodstuffs, but failures at the front are in passing remembered also. Representatives of the most different social classes are irritated equally with a passive position of the Emperor who is taking cover from internal and external problems those in the rate in Mogilyov, in the bosom of the family in Tsarskoje Selo. Everywhere – in cafe, in public transport, in establishments, in turns behind products do not hesitate to express that he (Emperor) should reflect on Pavel I fate; that the German (Empress) ruins Russia etc. in the same malopochtitelnom spirit. This very day on the area before the Moscow station police and Cossacks unsuccessfully tried to disperse holding a meeting crowd.
On February, 24-26th, 1917 in Petersburg the building of District court and the Lithuanian lock (city prison) is set fire, whence together with political prisoners hundreds criminals are set free. The crowd smashes archives of police stations.

Come in the night from 26 for February, 27th the order of the tsar on putting in order in capital and Duma dissolution obviously was late for a vacation – the Arsenal (a weapon stock of a city) on February, 26th, 1917 is grasped. Soldiers of Pavlovsk and Lithuanian regiments have passed To the party of demonstrators (only-127 000 soldiers a spare battalion of the Volynsk regiment; in the bulk it were still the recruits who were not taking the oath) whom, having incorporated to workers, took under the control Right-bank, Foundry and Christmas areas of Petersburg (further – Petrograd). The workers who have rushed on February, 27th in the Taurian palace and soldiers, present sitting members of the Duma with a fait accompli the come true revolution.
For putting in order by order of the Emperor armies have been removed from front and directed to Petersburg. However putejtsy, sabotaging the order, have detained echelons in a way. Precisely also have not allowed to reach to destination to a train with the sovereign going it which have solved personally to arrive to capital, – the structure has been stopped in Pskov.
Trying to head revolution, members of the State Duma declared on February, 27th creation of new controls by the country – Interim committee of the State Duma (Provisional government) led by M.O.Rodzjanko (the chairman of IV State Duma, the monarchist). In parallel Bolsheviks, Mensheviks and social democrats form the controls – Council of working and soldier's deputies (it have headed: Aleksandrovich, Sukhanov/gimmer/, Steklov/nehamkes/) which also applies for a management. Both authorities sit at the Taurian palace. Despite the various political ends, the contradictory parties in arrangement – both thirst Nikolay II renunciation. The second point of their requirements is convocation of the national Constituent assembly which should accept the constitution and a democratic way to select the new government. Equality of all nationalities is proclaimed.
03.03.1917 at station "Bottom" Nikolay II (Romanov) has signed renunciation of a throne (including and on behalf of the son, tsarevitch Alexey) in favour of the brother, Grand duke Michael Aleksandrovicha, without knowing that the brother has refused to accept a throne.
