The Kamennoostrovsky bridge
The Kamennoostrovsky bridge

Lying through Small Nevku, the Kamennoostrovsky bridge known in prostoreche, still as Beta Nkurovsky, connects itself Stone and Pharmaceutical islands, on a line of the Kamennoostrovsky prospectus. Along with Ushakovsky, the Kamennoostrovsky bridge forms a transit crossing not only from the Petrograd party, but also from Vasilevsky island, paternal movement on this highway always very recovered and sated.

It is easy to define that the name of the Kamennoostrovsky bridge as, however, and the Kamennoostrovsky prospectus, occurs from Stone island.
It is known that in 1760, on a place of the modern Kamennoostrovsky bridge, has been induced, under the project of architect A.F.Vista, naplavnoj the bridge which has become by the fourth similar crossing in St.-Petersburg.

In 1811 — 1813 instead of naplavnogo, the wooden, seven-flying arch bridge executed under the project of engineer A.A.Betankura which surname has given to this structure the national name - Beta Nkurovsky here has been constructed. It is necessary to notice that the erected bridge became the sample of outstanding achievements of domestic engineering thought of that time as was the similar bridge construction first in Russia and has served as a prototype for building of other, similar bridges. Its river foundations have been made welded, and coastal – stone, of a pink granite, on the pile basis which established known «kamnetesnyh the master» Samson Sukhanov has put.

The first major repairs of the bridge have been made in 1833, on developed by engineer P.P.Bazenom, to the project. Then repair has not mentioned a design of the bridge, and have been kept strengthened pig-iron muftami its pile support. It is interesting that in that repair work far year which was necessary for making below a water level, were carried out in special leather bags.
In 1859, under the project of engineer A.Shtukenberga, arch designs of the Kamennoostrovsky bridge have been replaced balochnymi, podkosnoj systems. And in 1953-1955, on a place of an old structure the new, modern five-flying metal bridge balochnoj the systems, having central razvodnoj the flight, otkatno-revealing system has been built.

Bridge building was carried out under the project of engineers of V.V. Osadchenko, V.V. Demchenko, B.B.Levin and architects P.A.Aresheva, V.S.Vasilkovskogo. The shape of the built Kamennoostrovsky bridge has got traditional, for bridge structures of Petersburg, line. Its lateral flights have blocked two-flying metal not cutting beams, with a curvilinear outline of the bottom belts. Ruslovye support of a structure have executed from concrete and have revetted with a granite. For wings razvodnogo flight, instead of usual wooden floorings, ferro-concrete plates with an asphalt covering for the first time have been applied. The decor of the new bridge was made by granite obelisks, with bronze stars and nimbuses, and protections and lampposts became a copy of similar elements of registration of the Ushakovsky bridge. The length of the erected Kamennoostrovsky bridge has made 180,7 metres, width – 27 metres, weight of metal flying structures of 1133 tons, and weight of counterbalances – 720 tons.

Last major repairs of the bridge have been carried out in 1999. Since then special repair interventions in a measured life of this structure which have left a considerable trace in architectural registration of Petersburg of the middle of 20th century, it was not made.
